The Dimgogo Triple Chips Full Spectrum Grow Lamp provides plenty of power for the average user for a big number of reasons. First off, it features a 10W triple LED chip configuration. This means that the energy delivery is way above average while keeping power consumption down—a good result of clever engineering.
While this is a good thing, people that used single LED chips in the past might want to consider adjusting their usual grow light positioning, to avoid any sort of imbalance.
Moving on, while the specifications state that it’s a 1000 watt machine, these are only theoretical watts. The number is achieved by multiplying the number of diodes used in the machine with a generic value, but it doesn’t reflect actual performance.
A lot of users tend to believe the advertised or theoretical wattage to be the actual power. In the real world, the machine uses an average of 185 watts (the average between the lowest and highest recorded power consumption).
This means that the machine is somewhere between industrial strength and entry level, making it ideal for your average consumer to use for various projects. While it doesn’t use that much power, it does feature a neatly designed electrical system, making it very power efficient.
Furthermore, the manufacturer used 120-degree lenses to magnify and intensify the light output, giving it a boost in performance without suffering any sort of drawback.
Aside from features, the build quality is on-spot. The weak generic white metal has been improved, with coating added for effect and safer handling. The metal isn’t that thick, which in theory is bad, but keep in mind that these machines function while suspended, so lightness is important.

That being said, the Hi-Standard Full Spectrum Plant Light is a valid alternative to the Dimgogo product, with a comparable price and similar features. For starters, the Hi-Standard grow light sports a neat optical lens triple LED chip design, the same one found in the Dimgogo one. The power consumption is close to 160 watts, being a bit below what we’ve seen so far, but still good enough for its purpose.
The real problem with the Hi-Standard product is that, because the manufacturer has been cutting corners while choosing parts, the switch is now unstable and prone to catching fire. A lot of products have caused potentially life-threatening incidents, the product being pulled from production. In this sense, Dimgogo has a well-balanced grow light which is both safe to use and efficient at getting the job done.
To be blunt, this particular grow light isn’t the best one on the market, not by a long shot. From cooling to power delivery, it can see a big number of improvements, but that’s not the point.
While it can see some polishing in future models, the current iteration does a great job at delivering plants the required energy for developing, all while keeping electricity bills at a reasonable value. It features optical lens technology that increases energy delivery, a full spectrum of LED lights which includes UV and IR and an overall good build quality.
